Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lips

Hopefully you received everything you wanted for Christmas or you at least received money to get yourself something. Well there were so many makeup packages sold during the holidays. Let me know what everyone got. 

Anastasia Beverly Hills has received launched a line of lip colors and they are pretty amazing. The Queen of brows has done it again. They are called Liquid Lips. They go on like a lip gloss and dry like a matte lip stick. There are 19 different colors right now and next month they are going to launch 1 more color. 

The colors are rich and have great color payoff.

Here are few of the colors. My favorite are Lovely, Pure Hollywood, Heathers and Vintage.  

These are sold online at Anastasia Beverly Hills and at Macy's online. I am going to head over and purchase a few. Let me know if you get any and what colors you decide on.

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a super duper weekend. I have been busssy! I have been working like crazy, photo shoots and I am trying to clean my whole house. Let me just say I haven't really done much cleaning since Thanksgiving and my house looked like a tornado came through it.

So today, I had a great shoot with Andrew Gleason. He's is definitely a photographer to follow. He's very high fashion and New York in my opinion. Plus he's a great friend of mine. I didn't get any behind the scenes (bts) from the shoot from today but I am always shooting with him and I will remember to take pictures. Oh yeah before I forget, Andrew also does weddings so if you are looking for someone contact him!!!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to work with a beauty, Paige Pacheco. She's a modern day Snow White. She has gorgeous pale skin, black hair and the beautiful eyes that just glow. That's still not giving her enough credit.

I did a beauty shoot. Nothing to crazy with the makeup but she doesn't need it. She has great facial structure. A little goes a long way with Paige.

This photo was taken by David Apeji. He's a great photographer and amazing to work with. Paige is currently signed with Ford/Robert Black Agency and Wilhelmina Models in Dubai. I will be posting more pictures from this shoot. And I will be going over this look too. Stay tuned

I'm Back

I'm BACK friends!!! Sorry for leaving for so long. I have been MIA for awhile and I didn't think I was going to be gone so long but honestly I got very busy with being a makeup artist. I have done fashion shows, lots of editorial work and of course photo shoots. I even went to LA styled week. Pretty amazing and I have loved every minute of it. I have started writing a beauty segment for Angelic Magazine and I love it. And of course I had some family time in there. I have tons of new things to talk about and new things going on in my life. I can't wait to share everything I have learned with you all. Stay tune folks I will be writing a whole lot more

Food for Thought!!!

I always thought everyone should wear a little bit of makeup. I understand there are days that are meant for vegging and allowing your face to breath but makeup can do so much to someone's natural beauty. I read an article the other day...totally don't remember where or who wrote it but it stated that makeup can take at least 10 years off of your age. I am a strong believer of this statement. Without makeup you could have your dark circles exposed (sometimes dark circles aren't just from not sleeping enough, they could run in the fam bam) and uneven skin tones (which I suffer from). All celebrities wear some kind of makeup even if it is to make them look natural. Beauties, you have all seen the pictures of celebrities without makeup and wondered why they would even walk out of the house like that, well now why would you walk out of the house like...I am not saying that you should walk out of the house ready to go out or ready for the Grammy's, all I am saying is that a little bit of makeup can go a long way.

Always remember you don't know who you might run into when you are running errands, maybe that ex that you have been avoiding LOL or a guy you are crushing on either way you don't want to look your worse. Don't get me wrong, as a makeup artist I rarely wear makeup but when I walk out the front door I do make sure my skin is even toned, I apply my brows and mascara because without my ammo I look like hot mess. Makeup is not for everyone and people don't always like applying tons of stuff to their face but always remember a little bit of makeup can go a long way, you can use a tinted moisturizer (I love Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer, very light)

 and a little concealer and bam you are ready to go.

False lashes!!!

Valentine's day is just next week...you are going to be wearing your red lips and now just to put the finishing touches to your look, you are adding false lashes. There are so many choices when it comes to false lashes. You don't want to pick the wrong ones for a special day like Valentine's.

I love Ardell lashes and they can be purchased at Sally's Beauty, Walgreens and Target. They are flexible and easy to work with. I would say these are my go to lashes for everything. I use them on all of my clients from movie/TV to weddings and runway. Ardell lashes can be very natural like their #110 lashes

or they can be dramatic and stand out like the #111 lashes

Now that you have picked out your lashes, you need to decide on which lash adhesive you are going to use. I love DUO Eyelash Adhesive and again you can purchase this as the same places as the false lashes. DUO comes in white formula (it dries clear) and black formula (good for wearing black eye liner).

Now is the fun stuff. Apply your makeup normally, curl your natural lashes if need and then apply 1-2 coats of mascara on this time. Take the lashes out of the case they are in and rock them back and forth between your fingers to give it a bit more flexible. You are going to want to measure the false lashes against your natural lashes to make sure the false lashes aren't too long. If they happen to be too long then you can trim them a little bit at the longer end. Measuring the false lashes is extremely important because you don't want them to look too false and not fit the size of your eye. Apply some adhesive to the base of the lash strip, do not apply too much or else you will have a mess. You just want to apply a thin coat to the base of the lash strip. Wait about 20 seconds before apply the false lashes to the base of your lashes so that the glue can get tacky. You aren't going to want to close your eye all the way. I would just look down and apply. The glue will still be wet so you can adjust as needed and wait for it to wet. It doesn't take long at all, maybe a minute or 2. Then you would apply the other lash to the other eye and just wait. I normally would put on my blush and lipstick while I am waiting for the adhesive to dry. Once it is dry then you can apply some more eyeliner to cover the false lash line and maybe even apply a thin coat of mascara to connect your natural lashes with the false lashes. Viola you are done!!!!
